Privacy Statement
The importance of privacy...

InsureNet provides you with a reliable, robust, and secure Internet experience. We are committed to guarding your privacy and all personal information. InsureNet recognizes the importance of protecting all information collected from and shared with… all system users. For the purposes of this Privacy Statement, the word 'customers' includes all visitors to this web site and all subscribers to and all users of…. our services hosted by NLETS.

What type of information do we collect? We collect and use only elements which are not personal. We accept the VIN, (Vehicle Identification Number), the NAIC Code, (National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ identification number for each insurer), the policy number, the effective dates, (and times if available), a physical description of the vehicle, policy levels, the previously-assigned Unique Code, (only if available and provided), and either the two character State ID or the ZIP Code. We also collect If the insurer wishes, we also collect the lien holder identification number, (if there is a lien coverage levels to assist insurers and government regarding underinsured status and if the lien holder ID is provided, can assist insurers in providing notification to those entities upon coverage reduction or termination. We organize for insurers to send SR-22 and SR-26 to NLETS on behalf of government, but those files cannot come to or by accepted by our system as they typically contain personal data. A system at NLETS accepts them and then assists States with their requirements without contact to InsureNet databases or services. At no time does InsureNet handle insurance policy data that includes a name or address.

How do we use your personal information? InsureNet does not use your personal information. We cannot trade, rent or sell your personal and/or corporate information regarding any actual insurance policy…we don’t have that information and would not use it even if we did. We enjoy the support of privacy and minority advocates because we never allow privacy-sensitive data in our system. We also provide no-cost secure portals to any and all privacy and minority advocates and organizations requesting them. We want to know…..that they all know….we mean exactly what we say regarding privacy.

How secure is my information? InsureNet can ensure the total security, integrity and privacy of personally-identifiable information of all customers. We simply don’t accept, maintain or use such data. Additionally, with Triple DES encryption and a history of over forty years of never once being compromised, nothing is more secure than NLETS, which hosts the system and handles all communications. We use a variety of very advanced physical and electronic security measures including biometric restrictions regarding physical access to our offices, firewalls, and secure communications and…many other security measures in compliance with NLETS, but again, there are no “privacy issues” because there is no privacy-sensitive data.

What should I do to protect my privacy on the Internet? Remember to close your browser when you have finished your user session with this or any other site. This is to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet café. Even in suburban neighborhoods, your system is easily compromised, so make no assumptions and always be careful.

Ultimately, you are responsible for the security and access to your own computer. Please be careful and responsible whenever you are using the Internet. We can and will take the most stringent measures to protect you regarding any access to and use of our systems. This site is monitored for safety constantly, but we can do little to protect you regarding your own system or the internet generally and caution you to be very careful. We have very strong views on the need for, and the value of… privacy. If you feel we can assist you in any manner in this regard, please contact us. We have a series of White Papers available regarding Identity Theft and would be please to provide them to you. Just contact us and tell us what you need.
